01Who we are
Wiele is a product of Reason22 ("we", "us"). Reason22 runs wiele.io and the Wiele app, command line tool and MCP server, and is the controller of the personal data described here.
This policy explains what we collect when you join the waitlist or use Wiele, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. You can reach us about anything in it atprivacy@wiele.io.
02What we collect
- Waitlist. Your email address, the date you joined and which signup form you used.
- Account. Your email address, the name you choose and your sign-in sessions. Sign-in codes are stored only in hashed form.
- Your files. The files, folders and versions you save to Wiele, with the names, notes and authors attached to each version.
- Sharing. The email addresses of people you invite, and the access you give them.
- Logs. IP addresses, request times, browser or client details and error reports, which keep the service secure and working.
- Messages. Whatever you tell us when you email us.
We collect this from you directly, from the people who invite you to a workspace, and from your devices when they talk to our servers. Wiele does not charge anyone yet. Before it does, we will name the payment provider here. We will not store full card numbers ourselves.
03How we use it
We use personal data only for these purposes, each with a legal basis under the GDPR:
- Running Wiele for you. Storing your files and versions, signing you in, sending sign-in codes and invitations, and support. Basis: performing our contract with you.
- The waitlist. Keeping your place and emailing you when your spot opens. We send nothing else unless you ask for it. Basis: steps you asked us to take before entering a contract.
- Security. Rate limits, abuse prevention and keeping logs to investigate problems. Basis: our legitimate interest in a safe, working service.
- Legal duties. Keeping records we are required to keep, such as invoices once we charge for Wiele. Basis: legal obligation.
We do not sell your data, share it for advertising, show you ads, or use your files to train AI models. We do not make decisions about you by automated means that have legal or similarly significant effects.
04Your files and AI
To make search work, Wiele converts documents to text and indexes them. This runs on Cloudflare, inside our own account, and is never shared with AI model providers. An AI agent you connect sees only what your account can see, and every change it saves is recorded as a version under your name.
The agent itself is software you choose and run. Files it reads from Wiele are then handled under that agent provider's terms, not ours.
05Who helps us run Wiele
- Cloudflare hosts the website and service, stores files, sends our email, and runs document conversion and search.
- Code Storage by Pierre stores version history for your workspaces.
- Google hosts the inbox that receives email sent to our @wiele.io addresses.
Each provider handles data only on our instructions and under a data processing agreement. We may also disclose data when the law requires it, to protect people's safety, or as part of a sale or merger of our business, in which case this policy continues to apply.
06International transfers
Some of these providers process data outside the European Economic Area and the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, we rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its UK extension for certified providers, or on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses with the UK addendum. Ask us for a copy of the relevant safeguards.
07How long we keep it
- Waitlist. Until you get access or ask us to remove you, and never more than 24 months after you joined. Entries older than that are deleted automatically.
- Account. While your account is open, then deleted within 30 days of closing it, apart from records the law requires us to keep.
- Files and versions. Until a workspace owner deletes them. Deleted data can stay in encrypted backups for up to 13 months before those backups expire.
- Logs. Up to 30 days.
- Emails with us. As long as we need them to help you, and no more than two years after the conversation ends.
08Your choices and rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, correct it, export your files, delete your account or leave the waitlist. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to restrict or object to how we use your data, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent without affecting anything we did before.
Email privacy@wiele.io from the address you used with us. We will reply within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.
If you are in the EU or UK, you can also complain to the data protection authority where you live or work. We would rather hear from you first, so we can try to fix it.
If you are a California resident, you have the rights to know, delete and correct, and not to be discriminated against for using them. We do not sell or share personal information as the CCPA defines those terms.
09Cookies
wiele.io sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. Fonts and images load from our own domain. If a future Wiele web app needs a cookie to keep you signed in, it will be strictly necessary and we will list it here.
10Children
Wiele is not for children. You must be at least 16 to join the waitlist or create an account. If you think a child has given us personal data, email us and we will delete it.
11Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your data, we will email account holders and waitlist members before it takes effect.
